I agree! Gonzo is good shit. There hasn't been a show done by them, that I've seen, that I did not enjoy(not counting Pumpkin Scissors...I admit, that show was quite shit.)
Although, I haven't really seen a lot of their stuff...So who am I to say?
I did really really enjoy Welcome to the NHK, one of Gonzo's best anime(In my mind that is). They seem to do good with the more comedy-type anime.
Anywho, another stellar episode eh!
If Battle Can-Can is as bad as you say it is, it'd be great if Fast Karate got a hold of it! I can only imagine the hilarity that would most likely ensue.
I think the government was trying to protect you on this one.I think they know that nobody should watch this thing.

Speaking of akward non-work safe podcasts . I had a creepy moment last year , when I was listening to Distorted View in a crowded lift and all of a sudden Tim Henson started playing gay porn outtakes at like full blast.I was totally unable to hit the FF or STOP button because I could barely move my hands.I can tell you that people were not amused.

What Gonzo titles have you recently seen? Check out Kiddy Grade a while ago.
Strike Witches is the best I've seen Gonzo's done IMO. No really, it's so messed up it's highly entertaining. Lolis, flying around with no pants and have furry tails/ears all along trying to be about "friendship/trust/getting better" but really it's about the pantsu.
I think hentai was the way it was back then because they were pretty much able to release ANYTHING and get away with it without worrying if it'd sell or not since the economy was doing really well in 80's Japan.

They hate almost anything perverted since they're moral panic alarmists.
I haven't seen Solty Rei, why do you ask? It's pretty good eh? If so I'll have to check it out.
I've just been watchin' Eureka Seven lately, I must say that anime caught me by surprise. It's very very emotional, and I likes me some emotional anime.
